Project purpose

By implementing the initial investment and all its components (procurement, hiring, innovation, internationalisation, certification, environmental protection and equal opportunities), MAR-INA-PRODPREST SRL leveraged market opportunities to increase the output of office and retail furniture by introducing new product lines enabled by the equipment purchased.

The general objective of the project “DEVELOPING MAR-INA-PRODPREST SRL THROUGH INNOVATION-DRIVEN INVESTMENTS” was to enhance economic competitiveness by increasing the company’s labour productivity. This objective was achieved by diversifying the company’s activity and launching new categories of furniture as a result of the project’s actions. New furniture categories developed through the innovation process include: metal benches with bespoke design, metal chairs with bespoke design, service counters with bespoke design, display showcases, modular shelving, modular cabinets, modular filing cabinets, modular lockers, bespoke-design tables, and restaurant service trolleys.

The specific objectives of the project were:

1. Process and product innovation within the company through the purchase of 2 high-performance technological machines, 2 innovative software solutions, a LED lighting system, a photovoltaic system; participation in 1 international trade fair; recertification of an ISO 9001 quality management system; and obtaining 1 process certification;

2. increasing the average number of employees by 1 position filled by a person from a disadvantaged category;

3. diversifying the company’s activity by manufacturing a new category of products in the field of furniture manufacturing (NACE Rev. 2 - 3101).

Investment impact at local/region level: Company growth through diversification of activities and development of new furniture categories, contributing to improved competitiveness of the regional economy by stimulating high value-added manufacturing sectors and entrepreneurship through access to finance in urban areas within the South-East Development Region.

Achieved results: 1 initial investment (diversification of company activities) implemented through: 2 innovative, high-performance technological machines received and commissioned; 2 production software solutions received and operational; an efficient lighting system installed; a functional photovoltaic system; participation in 1 international trade fair; 1 ISO 9001 quality management system recertified; and 1 process certification obtained.
