Fire Hydrant Cabinets & Enclosures for Fire Safety Equipment

Hydrant cabinets and other enclosures for protecting fire safety equipment

MAR-INA PRODPREST SRL manufactures indoor fire hydrant cabinets and can supply, on request or as complete kits, the necessary equipment for indoor hydrants (hose, valve, branch pipe/nozzle, etc.). The cabinets are designed to protect the equipment and ensure fast, well-organized access in emergencies, in public, commercial, or industrial buildings....

Why choosing the right hydrant cabinet matters

  • Protection for the hose and accessories (dust, impacts, heavy use).
  • Quick access and good equipment visibility (depending on the model, a glazed door).
  • Organization for the hose and accessories (fixed half-moon hose rack or reel/drum, depending on configuration).
  • Compatibility with the installation design (dimensions, mounting position, openings/cut-outs for connections).

How to choose the right model

To choose the correct hydrant cabinet, we recommend checking:

  • Cabinet size (available wall/recess space and the type of equipment installed).
  • Hose support type: fixed half-moon rack or reel/drum support, depending on your preferred use and how you want the hose organized.
  • Equipped vs. unequipped cabinet: whether you want a complete set (cabinet + accessories) or just the metal enclosure.
  • Project application (public/industrial buildings) and documentation/traceability requirements.

Examples of models in the range

In this category you will find both compact options and cabinets for more generous configurations:

Equipment (complete kits) and accessory compatibility

For projects where a “ready-to-install” delivery is required, certain products are available as equipped kits, including components such as a C-type hose (e.g., DN52, 20 m) and accessories (valve, coupling, branch pipe/nozzle), depending on the model and configuration. Full details are shown on the product pages.

Certification and compliance

Depending on the model, some cabinets (together with their corresponding equipment) are presented as tested and certified for performance and quality compliance, in the context of Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (CPR – Construction Products Regulation).

Certification according to Regulation 305/2011/EU
Certification according to Regulation 305/2011/EU

When designing and selecting indoor hydrant systems, EN 671-2 describes requirements and test methods for systems with a lay-flat hose installed in buildings and permanently connected to the water supply. If your project requires references to standards, check the requirements in the execution/installation documentation and choose the appropriate product/configuration.

Frequently asked questions about fire hydrant cabinets

What is an indoor fire hydrant cabinet and what is it used for?

An indoor fire hydrant cabinet is designed to store and protect hydrant equipment (hose, valve, branch pipe/nozzle, etc.), ensuring fast, organized access in emergencies.

What is the difference between an equipped and an unequipped hydrant cabinet?

An equipped hydrant cabinet is supplied together with accessories (e.g., C-type hose, valve, branch pipe/nozzle, and mounting/organization elements). An unequipped cabinet is only the enclosure/metal assembly, and the accessories are selected separately, depending on the project.

What standard sizes are available (examples CH60 and CH93)?

Examples of sizes from the current range:

  • CH60 Minibox: 500 × 500 × 150 mm
  • CH93: 650 × 550 × 200 mm

To choose the correct size, consider the support type (half-moon/reel), hose length, and the available installation space.

What does “half-moon” support mean and what does “reel/drum” mean?

The half-moon rack is a fixed support on which the hose is placed/organized inside the cabinet. The reel/drum is a rotating support (reel) that the hose is wound onto for easier handling and faster deployment.

What does the standard equipment include (example for a C-type hose)?

Depending on the model, the equipment may include (examples from CH60/CH93 equipped kits):

  • C-type hose DN52, 20 m length, with C-type couplings (according to EN 14540:2007)
  • Hydrant valve DN52, PN16, with fixed coupling (according to ISO 5208)
  • Fixed coupling type C52
  • Branch pipe/nozzle DN52, for solid and spray jet (e.g., Ø12 mm nozzle, Q=2.5 l/s), with shut-off

Are the cabinets certified / compliant for use in construction?

The equipped models in the presented range are stated as certified for performance and quality compliance, according to Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (CPR – Construction Products Regulation), with the certificate indicated on the product pages (e.g., 1299-CPR-0177).

How is the cabinet installed and what provisions does it have for the pipework?

For installation, some models feature cut-outs at the top for the valve/pipe pass-through, on both right and left (depending on the system configuration). The door can have a wide opening (e.g., up to 180°), with a glazed panel and a key lock.

What material are they made of and what safety features do they have?

Based on examples in the current range, the cabinets are made of steel and may include features such as: a glazed door (e.g., frosted/clear, depending on the model), a key lock, and a dedicated compartment/support for the equipment.
