This used-clothing collection and recycling container is made from galvanised steel sheet with a powder-coated finish to the RAL colour chart.

The container can be equipped with a fill-level monitoring system that provides real-time tracking of collected clothing volumes. Data is transmitted to the customer’s computer, where dedicated software centralises and visualises it. The system is fully autonomous, powered by a battery and a solar panel, so no mains power supply is required. The cost of this system is 1.430 RON and is added to the container price.

Recycling worn clothing is becoming a priority in today’s context of environmental protection and sustainable resource management. Under new EU and national regulations, Romanians are required to collect and recycle used textiles starting this year (2025). To meet this need, our company presents the Used Clothing Collection Container—a simple, practical solution to this challenge.

Our products can be purchased by your institution as a legal entity via direct purchase from our company’s digital catalogue on SICAP (company ID CUI: RO5202760).

    Quality and compliance certifications

Our company, MAR-INA PRODPREST S.R.L., proudly holds certifications for the Integrated Quality Management System SR EN ISO 9001:2008, Environmental Management SR EN ISO 14001:2005, and Occupational Health and Safety Management System SR EN ISO 45001:2023. These certifications attest to our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and safety across our operations.

In addition, our container benefits from quality and performance certifications issued by TÜV Rheinland, a global authority in product testing and certification. These certifications confirm compliance with strict standards regarding:

    • Operational safety: Ensuring the product can be used without risks to users or the environment.
    • Weather resistance: Withstands a wide range of conditions, including rain, snow, and temperature variations.
    • Durability: Long service life under intensive use.
    • Noise level: Quiet operation that does not disturb surrounding areas.

    Features

The container is sized for street installation: height 2100 mm, length 1090 mm, and width 1120 mm. With a maximum capacity of 2512 litres and a usable capacity of 1653 litres, it handles substantial volumes of used clothing, reducing emptying frequency and streamlining collection.

    • Dimensions without feet: 1090 x 1120 x 2100 mm
    • Ground clearance: 100 mm for stability and accessibility
    • Rated load: 430 kg for strength and durability

    Robust, durable construction

The container is made from galvanised steel sheet, thickness 0.8 mm, for enhanced corrosion and weather resistance. Joints are made by shielded welding, ensuring a solid, reliable structure. The door-side flanges are 60 mm wide for added security and to prevent deformation over time.

The feet include base plates and are made from rectangular tube 40 x 20 mm and 40 x 40 mm, providing stability and facilitating placement on different surfaces.

    Anti-theft safety system

A distinctive feature is the internal anti‑theft closure system. While the outer door opens to allow clothing to be deposited, a secondary inner door automatically closes, preventing unauthorised access to the container’s contents. When the outer door closes, the inner door opens, allowing items to drop inside. This mechanism helps prevent theft and vandalism, maintaining the integrity of the collected textiles.

    Customisable design

The container is electrostatically powder‑coated in colours from the RAL chart, allowing aesthetic customisation to suit client preferences or the installation area. The powder‑coat process delivers a uniform, scratch‑ and fade‑resistant finish for long‑lasting appearance.

Legislative context and the importance of textile recycling

According to the European Union’s official site, in a 2023 release, “Circular economy for textiles: taking responsibility for reducing, reusing and recycling textile waste & boosting markets for used textiles” the Commission proposes that Member States implement the requirement for separate collection of textiles starting in 2025. Romania will align its national legislation with the EU directives on textile waste management. These measures aim to reduce environmental impact and promote a circular economy.

    Recycling used clothing helps:

    • Reduce pollution: The textile industry is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions and water pollution.
    • Save resources: Recycling textiles reduces the need for new fibre production, saving water and energy.
    • Cut waste volumes: Used clothing makes up a considerable share of solid waste going to landfill.

    Community and social benefits

Deploying used clothing collection containers encourages community engagement in recycling. With accessible, easy‑to‑use containers, citizens are motivated to contribute actively to environmental protection.

Some collected garments can be redistributed to charities or vulnerable people, promoting social solidarity and reducing inequality.

    Implementation and technical support

Our team provides full support—from site selection consultancy to maintenance and technical assistance. We work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and industry partners to ensure the success of textile recycling initiatives.

    Conclusion

The used clothing collection container is an investment in our communities’ sustainable future. By adopting this solution, we protect the environment, promote social responsibility, and align with European standards for waste management.

We invite all interested entities to join our efforts and actively participate in creating a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.
